Writing.

I started writing in the late 90s when I created Divine Styler Magazine, the cult underground hip-hop magazine (later made into a book), that was one of the first to capture the zeitgeist of the 90s indie hip-hop movement, featuring artists like DJ Shadow, MF Doom, Hieroglyphics, and Company Flow. I then joined Vice Magazine, where I wrote a music column and feature stories for several years in the 00s. I have also contributed to various publications including Urb, Spin, RapPages, Hip Hop Connection (UK), RapEnRagga (France), and Inside Entertainment, to name a few. I’m digging through the archives and will be adding to this section, so make sure to check back or join the email list for notifications.

Music.

Known in the hip-hop world as Fritz tha Cat, I am the vocalist half of the indie hip-hop duo OK Cobra, with my partner Recordface handling production duties. We have released a few albums, toured extensively across Canada, Europe, and the USA, and been nominated for a number of music awards, including Song of the Year by CBC Radio Canada. I have also appeared on many other projects — hip-hop, soul, rock and electronic. You’ll find a selection of videos and links to music here.

Film & Television.

I have appeared on screen in a bunch of films and television shows that you have never seen. And I plan to do more. You’ll find some clips here. More to come.
